Andrea Bieger, a U.S. citizen and resident of Coconut Creek, Florida, was born in Kiel, Germany. She began her gymnastics career at the age of 9 and was the German Champion in Artistic Gymnastics 13 times. She participated in 22 International contests in gymnastics and was a member of the German Olympic Gymnastic team as a participant in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, Germany, the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Canada, and the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, Russia. She placed 12th in the All Around and best gymnast of all participants of the Western world and 7th place with the German team in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal. Her 18 years of participation in competitive international gymnastic events are the longest ever achieved by any gymnast.Back in Germany she studied and worked as a Sport Physical Therapist and as an assistant doctor for Sport medicine. Since 1996, when she and her family moved to Florida, she has focused on training her daughter, Jana, as a world class gymnast. Andrea’s love for the sport of gymnastics and knowledge of the physiology of the sport has led her to become a top gymnastic coach and trainer. |
